Is premultiplying alpha a requirement for making these calculations possible to compute in parallel?
As in the lecture version, opaque red should be [0.5, 0, 0, 0.5]
@szzheng. Thanks! Now fixed.
@Spantheras. No, per-channel parallelism when performing arithmetic on colors is possible in both the premultiplied, and non-premultiplied cases.
