I am curious about the computational cost of rendering a scene like this in comparison to using alpha composition. In the last lecture, we talked about how alpha composition could save you from rendering a ton of extraneous geometry (http://cs248.stanford.edu/winter19/lecture/pipeline/slide_050). Is this even cheaper?
