This diagram was initially quite confusing to me because it mixes a concrete label of w=1 with an arbitrarily-drawn point x_1 where w can take on an arbitrary value, and the dotted line connecting x and x_1 was a bit confusing since I was unsure of its meaning, and it was somewhat similar to the dotted lines used to demarcate the planes. Perhaps it would be more clear to explicitly draw out some of the other w-planes (where w=2, w=3) in the space before showing a more simplified diagram like this? I found the bunny diagrams later much easier to understand.

@ntm I believe $x_1$ is still in the $w = 1$ plane, since we're just shearing it around to fake translation. What do you mean by drawing other w-planes?
