We compute triangle edge equations for judging whether some point is inside the triangle or not but what's "triangle attribute equation"? Can anyone explain a little? Thx!

anon

I believe the triangle attribute equations are referring to the equations on slide 10.

From what I understand, the basic idea is that because of the perspective projection, in order to interpolate any attribute of the triangle that is defined on each of the three vertices it is necessary to compute these "triangle attribute equations" instead of linearly interpolating directly on the image in screen coordinates.

I just rewatched the lecture video and am still a little bit confused about this general idea. You said the phrase "interpolating z is like interpolating 1/w" as a justification from the second to last to the last line I believe. Is there any way you can explain this in a little more depth? Thank you!
