How are we able to tell C = [0.75 0 0]^T with alpha_C = 0.75 is a premultiplied color?

@cat. Because 75% opaque red in non-premultiplied form would be C=[1.0, 0.0, 0.0] and alpha_C = .75. In non-premultiplied form, the color on the read is 75% opaque darker red.

I am confused by this slide. Is the main idea that when compositing images, they must all be of the same form (either premultiplied or non-premultiplied)?
