There are a lot of interesting inverse kinematics solvers in the VR space such as IKinema and Unity's Final IK that create solid self-avatar movement with a really easy setup.

What does N-link IK problem mean exactly? I assume it means the number of joints we have? How many equations does a N-link problem provide? I have read somewhere else that you might need to do multiple passes to solve an N-link IK problem. Why would that be the case?
